Chart of the Month – November 2007 – Realistic Torn Page Technique

We like this way of formatting a torn page. Notice that the ragged bottom of the page actually breaks up the text. The result is much more realistic, especially when a drop shadow is added to lift the torn page off the slide a bit. Most times this concept is formatted as two objects: the torn page graphic underneath a picture of the page contents. The result is not nearly as striking.

This technique can be applied in PowerPoint 2007 and PowerPoint 2003. Here are your resources to create this concept:

  1. The torn pages are found in series CN004 and CN039 – use the editable versions, not the PNGs
  2. This link will take you to a FAQ that provides the easy formatting instructions. "How do I create photographs in different shapes from rectangular photographs?"

Enjoy using this concept!
