Tutorial for Bullet Alternative 015

Using Shooting Bullets with Chevron

This framework is perfect for introducing topics with short text strings and then adding a comment or summary. The variations range from three topics to six topics – less than three and more than six are too sparse/cramped.

They are easy to use and format.

There are two variations for each framework: V1) the shooting bullet follows the line of the arrow and V2) all shooting bullets are right aligned.

Customizing your shooting bullets with chevron

Adjust size

If you want to change the size/shape of the PowerFramework, be sure to group it and resize the entire group. Once resized, ungroup to proceed with other customizations. Ungroup and delete the blank field behind the framework. You should probably hold the shift key down as you resize so that the graphic scales.

Color variations

Select color from your document's color palette or a complimentary color so that the frameworks will reflect the color scheme of the rest of your document. Select "No line" if you want to eliminate the outline on the bullet alternatives (examples and the downloads use fills and no lines).

Make sure that the color of the shooting bullet and the color of your text contract appropriately.

2007 options

Many of the PowerPoint 2007 effects work well with these frameworks. The glows, bevels, and the reflections didn't look as nice as the others, but try a few to see what you like and, more importantly, what will complement the template and the other style choices in the presentation.

3D variations

3D effects work well, but you may want to nudge the left ends of the frameworks off the page for a cleaner onscreen/printout look. Also, shorter 3D depths tend to look better. Make sure you reduce the depth to about 6 or 12 points.

Shadows also work well, but you may want to nudge the left ends of the frameworks off the page for a cleaner onscreen/printout look. The shadows in PowerPoint 2007 look especially nice. They lift the framework off the slide a bit.

Gradients, patterns, and pictures

Gradients work exceedingly well with the chevron part of this framework. The PowerPoint download already has a gradient applied to the chevron. You just need to change the color to match your template. Applying gradients to the shooting bullets don't work as well, because the edges of chevron can then be seen. If you don't mind this, then go ahead and apply a gradient to the shooting bullets as well.

Pictures don't work well with these frameworks.

Lots of animation schemes work with these frameworks. Animation schemes can be simple reveals like wipes or fades. Download the animation example for another idea.
