Sometimes adding gradient formatting to a graphic and offsetting the text can produce a more pleasing slide. The tendency is to be quite literal with the graphic and text. For example, the graphic below is a literal depiction of the circular flow to illustrate the text message.

The same graphic with a gradient and offset text conveys the same message but in a more interesting and unique way. Download the example for this formatting to see how we've done it.

Consider this with other types of graphics as well. For example, a vertical flow with a left-to-right gradient allows you to move the text for each vertical segment out of the segment so you can add more text.
