Tutorial for Forces 006 – Screens

Using Forces 006

Use these screens alone or with other frameworks (e.g., funnels) to show that a filtering or selective process is in play. The screens are developed so that there is transparency behind the screen so elements look like they are passing through the screen.

Customizing the Screens

Adjust size

If you want to change the size/shape of the PowerFramework, be sure to group it and resize the entire group. Once resized, ungroup to proceed with other customizations.

Color variations

Select color from your document's color palette or a complimentary color so that the PowerFramework will reflect the color scheme of the rest of your document. For the frame of the screen, it's better to just use a fill or make the line the same color as the fill. Notice that these frameworks are drawn to look 3D. You will need to make and use two different hues of your frame color so that this effect is able to be seen correctly.

For the screen mesh lines, use a really small pen size (0.5 points) and in a light or medium gray.

3D variations

These frameworks are already drawn in 3D, so don't add that effect.

Don't apply any shadows to these frameworks.

Gradients, patterns, and pictures

Use gradients and patterns sparingly, as too much will obscure the frame.

Do not animate elements of this framework, but reveal it as a whole within your overall animation scheme.
