Tutorial for Circular Flow 069 – Traction Treads

These circular flow frameworks are a little different than other circular flows. The flow arrow is in the center of the segments, and the segments have "tread" on the outside so suggest traction of a tire. These frameworks vividly illustrate a segmented circle moving to the right, carrying the contents to a purpose. With a little thought, it is easy to imagine many ways to utilize this concept effectively.

Customizing the frameworks

Adjust size

Group and then rescale (hold shift key down as you resize).

Color variations

You can use whatever colors you like for the treaded circle segments, but a dark gray/black will reinforce the concept of a tire.  Resist the urge to color each segment differently, as this further disrupts the "tire" visual concept.

3D variations

No 3D on this.

Shadows can work with these frameworks.

Gradients, patterns, and pictures

Not necessary.

Simple reveals would be best.
