Non-Data-Driven Axes and Tick Marks
Using Axes for Non-Data-Driven Charts
This framework will save you time in setting up axes. Information is sometimes presented using axes as a qualifier or quantifier, but there is no real data to drive the chart. Notice in the example to the right and how this type framework might be useful.
There is only one framework in this series. We believed it was easier to have all of options on one page rather than choosing from multiple frameworks. The use of this framework requires a little more interaction from you. See the framework below.
The framework has between 1 and 10 tick marks on each axis. You will need to decide how many you want on each of your access and delete the rest. Move the desired number of tick marks into position, touching the axis. This framework will save you time, as it is much easier to click download than it is to draw, distribute, and align.
Customizing Axes
Adjust size
If you want to change the size/shape of the PowerFramework, be sure to group it and resize the entire group. Once resized, ungroup to proceed with other customizations.
Color variations
Since this framework consists of lines only, you can choose the line color you want from your palette and apply it. Best practice is to make these axes consistent with other axes in your presentation.
3D variations, shadows, gradients
These applications do not apply.
Animation
It's generally not a practice to animate the axes on a chart, only the contents.
