Create templates at the master level

This is a reminder for those of you who need to create master templates: create the master designs on the master level. We’ve noticed recently that a growing percentage of masters that we see have their designs on the content level of the template. When masters are built and used in this way, you’re opening yourself up to continuity errors (which signals the audience that it is an unprofessional presentation) and unnecessary document size (and document sizes are trending up anyway – why add even more unnecessary bulk?). Create a content slide design and a title slide design and place on the first (content) and second (title) slides of the master. Adjust the layout of the title and content text boxes. Also, set color scheme and font choices at the master level.

If you work from a properly set master, we can guarantee that you will spend less time readying your presentations for your audiences. Please disregard if you have too much time on your hands and are looking for ways to fill it. Is there really anyone like that anymore?
