Tutorial for Bullet Alternative 03 – Circle and Bar

These little frameworks are perfect for adding an icon or, as in the series example, a photograph. They are more interesting than placing text and image in a box. The uses are many, because they are a huge step up from a simple bulleted list. The circle is separate from the line, so images can be imported directly into the circle and/or text can be as well. Take a look at the tutorial for more ideas.

Customizing the vertically sliced circles

Adjust size

Several sizes are provided in the download, but you can also adjust the size of both the circle and the bar to extend the sizing possibilities.  Each field is eligible for individual sizing.

Color variations

Colors from your template's palette are good to use.  The circle can be colored and used with an overlaid icon or text.

3D variations

Don't use 3D.

You can use shadows, but be sure to group the circle and bar before applying shadow formatting.  That way you'll be shadowing the both as an individual object.

Gradients, patterns, and pictures

Pictures!  Pictures are especially nice within the circles.

Simple reveals are best.
