DD012 – Data-Driven Charts 012 – Pie Charts
Pie charts simply illustrate segments of a whole. The value is placed inside the slice and the label for the slice is placed outside the slice. In keeping with the "no redundancy rule" for presenting material, use a legend when multiple pies on a slide have the same labeling scheme. At this point you will need to change the color of each slice from colors in your template's palette.
When imported into your presentation template, these charts will adopt the defaults established in your presentation template. Refer to the tutorial for this series, the FAQs for working with data-driven charts, the best practices associated with data-driven charts, and the feature article for October 2006 for more information about uses and formatting.
